So I just have a question for yall's. Does anyone know if everything in this book is true or if its one of those books where its based off a true story but some of it is exaggerated and not completely true? As I have been reading its been getting harder and harder to believe everything that happened to Louie so it made me wonder if it was all accurate. Just a thought.
I did a little research on this and from what I read, it is all true. It is just so over whelming and hard to wrap your head around the fact this happened. It isn't something we usually see. I can see why you would think it is not all true. I think this is such a good book and best seller because it is all true. It is an unbelievable story. It is just hard to imagine one can endure such pain. His mental toughness must be ridiculous.

ReplyDeleteOn this website it talks about some parts of the story that may have been exaggerated. The article says that the publishing company would not talk about its editing process and answer questions about exaggeration of the details. Experts on the subject and survival, however, have looked over the details in the book. All the details included are possible but very unlikely and unreasonable. One example the website has is Louie going six days without water while he was on the raft. While this is very unlikely, experts on the subject have said that it is possible under certain conditions, so I do agree with Kazi and believe the majority of the details are true despite the fact they seem unrealistic.
